RECENT HAPPENINGS...PLEIN AIR IN THE MOUNTAINS SHOW October 2024 The Tuesday painters of Knoxville & the Great Smokies and local Plein Air artists participated in the event. They painted at our Cultural Heritage Sites..(and a little secret, my painting 'Blue Moon Over the Backroads' is being featured on a Limited Edition Wine Label at Watauga Lake Winery! The Tuesday painters were there when the first bottle was opened.) Hurricane Helene hit our area very hard just as the show was ready to open. Cristy Dunn, Lewis Chapman and I worked to set up the show and get it online. It was so very special. Leading and sponsoring the event the past 2 years has been a blessing but this year's was even more special. The show was up throughout the month of October at Johnson County Center for the Arts. Renowned artist Lori McNee worked with me so kindly to judge the show and it will be forever remembered.

THE EDGE EFFECT Invitational Art Show at Johnson County Center for the Arts - Opening August 2. Showing August-September 2024 I collaborated with renowned artist J. P. Jackson to create a piece for this show . The Edge Effect is used to describe the abundance of creativity that results when artists of diverse backgrounds, styles or cultures collaborate. I am mainly a self-taught artist working in oils and other mediums and he is a highly educated artist working in photography and printmaking who studied fine arts at the University of Florida. Here is our finished work. It is a honor to collaborate with him and we will be working together on a show for 2025!!!

"REVIEW: "Temple supports other artists and the Arts and serves our community in countless ways. She leads our Sunshine and Smiles Program (teaching and providing art supplies) for children. Temple has been part of bringing to life numerous murals in Mountain City including her solo piece, "The Lopsided 3" train that once ran in Johnson County. The many organizations in which she has played an important role in developing and leading are indicative of her love and commitment to God, family and community. Her role as Assistant Director is immeasurable . " ~Johnson County Center for the Arts 2022
