Summer Rain was painted in my studio after working at the farm and having a vision in my mind from earlier in the week. A big beautiful rain cloud opened up in the distant meadows and mountain tops while it was still sunny where we stood. I struggled with the sky to create a serene, peaceful and reflective atmosphere with a soft focus. I wanted the clouds to be filled with light and still keep that pastel-like color palette to enhance the tranquil feel of the day. Creating depth with gentle shadows helped create the feeling of that day. The painting is 24 x 12 in oils on linen. Shipping is free in the USA.
