Deep in the Forest was painted in my studio with many layers and much love. The scene is from Laurel Creek Trail, a place I have painted in plein air with my friend, my grandkids and all alone. Even though this scene is painted from one of my photo references and memories of this trail, it brings back memories of childhood and the sentiments of time spent at the river and small creek where I grew up. My sisters and I spent hours walking in the woods, making laurel leaf crowns, playing games, building forts, laughing, talking and even playing with imaginary friends. I hope it brings back a lot of memories for you. It is 24 x 36 in oils on stretched linen and professionally framed by Johnson County Center for the Arts. Only one is available and shipping is included in the USA. This painting was juried into the American Artists Professional League 2026 All Members All Levels Online Exhibition and is featured in the Spring Art Edition of Charleston Style and Design Magazine and Atlanta Style and Design Spring Art Edition. You will also find it in the Spring Edition of Carolina Mountain Life Magazine.
