RECENT HAPPENINGS...PLEIN AIR IN THE MOUNTAINS SHOW October  2024
The Tuesday painters of Knoxville & the Great Smokies and local Plein Air artists participated in the event. They painted at our Cultural Heritage Sites..(and  my painting 'Blue Moon Over the Backroads' is being featured on a Limited Edition Wine Label at Watauga Lake Winery! The Tuesday painters were there when the first bottle was opened.)
Hurricane Helene hit our area very hard just as the show was ready to open. Cristy Dunn, Lewis Chapman and I worked to set up the show and get it online. It was so very special. Leading  and sponsoring the event the past 2 years has been a blessing but this year's was even more special. The show was up throughout the month of October at Johnson County Center for the Arts.
Renowned artist Lori McNee  and Lewis Chapman worked with me so kindly to judge the show and it will be forever remembered.

( The Winery will be generously donating $2 from each bottle to the Johnson County Center for the Arts

IT WENT GREAT... THE EDGE EFFECT Invitational Art Show at Johnson County Center for the Arts - Opening August 2.
I will be collaborating  with renowned artist J. P. Jackson to create a piece for this show . The Edge Effect is used to describe the abundance of creativity that results when artists of diverse backgrounds, styles or cultures collaborate. I am mainly a self-taught artist working in oils and other mediums and he is a highly educated artist working in photography and printmaking who studied fine arts at the University of Florida. I can't wait to see our finished work. It is a honor to collaborate with him. My son and his wife, John and April Andrews will also be working together to create some magic with diverse artistic skills of blacksmith/wood work digital art.

Preserving A Picturesque America-Laurel Trail Collaberation Spring 2024
Picture
I love nature and the beauty in our mountains.  Laurel Creek Trail is one of my favorite places. I noticed the volunteers and Board needed some help with upkeep and found that I could use my art to help.
I am so proud to be part of Preserving a Picturesque America, a 501c3 that works to preserve natural and historic places through the power of the arts.  They have chapters in Colorado, Georgia, Maine, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and our own Tennessee! Their gallery is Saluda Studios in NC.  They  showcased my art and gave everyone the opportunity to help the Laurel Creek Trail. You could purchase one of my paintings until they were all sold (All 4 are now sold) or just make a donation. It's a blessing to be able to help just a little.

The Seasons of Home Solo Show has been such a blessing! Such kindness and support was shown by family, friends, other artists and patrons. Several red dots have made me happy and some of the paintings from the show are still available!
